Don't you dare give up!
As Veterans, we face a unique challenge of going from a strict, military mindset to a civilian way of life. We can quickly be overwhelmed with our families, responsibilities and future goals. It doesn't help that we have been taught to tough it out, suck it up and drive on! That doesn't work in a civilized society. We need to open our hearts to our friends and loved ones. We need to be honest about our feelings and relearn to communicate. We need to learn that barking orders at our friends and family only alienates us. We need to learn to de-escalate our own emotions and recognize our triggers that set off those emotions.

Use the resources we have available
There are so many organizations that can help you through whatever you may be going through. I would encourage you to find an organization near you and become a regular member. This is one way we can still experience a Brotherhood of like-minded warriors and fulfill our innate need to have purpose. I would encourage everyone to be a positive role model and active member of your community. Helping others gives us purpose and can benefit everyone involved.
Here are some of my true stories. Enjoy!
